Latin Horizons places interns with many of the finest local and international companies in Ecuador. We make it possible for international students, recent graduates and professionals, to work in their field of study while becoming immersed in Ecuador's culture and communities. Latin Horizons organizes internships throughout Ecuador: in the Highlands, Coast, Jungle and the Galapagos Islands.

The fields available for internships in Ecuador include: Architecture, Business Counseling, Hospitals, Hotels, Human Resources, Human Rights Organizations, Import and Export Companies, Indigenous Rights Organizations, Law Firms, Marketing & Public Relations, Museums, Newspapers, Radio & TV, Language Schools, Social Institutions, Theaters, Travel Agencies, NGO, Women's Rights Organizations.

We will check the possibilities and make arrangements according to the participants' ideas and wishes. Placements can be made a few weeks prior to the arrival of the intern. The length of internship placements is as flexible as are the possible positions.

Internship Position Description

Tour Operator located in downtown Quito in the Mariscal neighborhood promotes adventure tours in and around Ecuador, like mountain climbing, jungle trips and Galapagos cruises.  The intern is going to help with reservations of tours and sales via mail or directly through the office. Internship Position Description

Metropolitan touring is Ecuador’s largest Travel Agency offering tours for foreigners in Ecuador and for Ecuadorians in foreign countries. Metropolitan Touring has 5 offices in Quito and works with an international staff consisting of 50 people. Duties of the intern will depend on the office to which he/she is assigned.

Internship Position Description

Small lodge located near the Ecuadorian coast in the cloud forest region, a few hours from the beach in a tropical environment for tourists who come to enjoy ecological tours and other outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking. The intern will help manage the lodge, organize trips and be in touch with tourist requirements.

Internship Position Description

This hacienda is located in the middle of the Avenida de los Volcanes. (Volcano Avenue), a range of valleys in between the various Andes peaks in the central region of Ecuador. The hacienda receives tourists from all over the world and organizes outdoor activities such as: mountain climbing, biking, and trekking, hiking and horseback riding. The intern will help manage the hacienda, organize trips and be in touch with tourist requirements. This position can be combined with the internship number LHIPT-03 if the intern would like to experience working in different regions of Ecuador.

Depending on the placement, they may be able to work in intensive care or even observe surgery. Internship Position Description

Internships for doctors, medical students or students who possess qualifications within the medical field.
Interns shadow Doctors within a public hospital located in Buenos Aires. The area/hospital department in which the interns shadow Doctors depends on the interns experience/area of interest or studies.

Internship Position Description

The intern will work in a mental health clinic of Buenos Aires and will gain an understanding of the mental health system in Argentina and a window on the field. Included will be education about recovery. This will give the prospective intern a heads-up when moving toward practice in the field.
